Telegram and Discord both host large communities, but they organize conversation differently.
Telegram
Cloud chats, channels for broadcast-style posts, bots, and flexible group tools. Often used for news channels and large public groups.
Discord
Server-based communities with text channels, roles, and voice channels popular for gaming, classes, and hobby clubs.
Choose Telegram if
You want lightweight channels and mobile-first messaging with contacts who already use Telegram.
Choose Discord if
Your community already runs on servers with roles, voice stages, or game-oriented workflows.
Compare official listings: Telegram and directory search for Discord. Also read notification channels so community apps do not overwhelm you.
